In May 2018, the House Ways and Means Committee approved H.R. 5861, The Jobs and Opportunity with Benefits and Services (JOBS) for Success Act, legislation to reform and reauthorize the nation’s $30 billion-a-year Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. The bill’s twin goals: preparing TANF recipients to get and hold jobs and bringing 7 million working-age men who have dropped out of the labor force ‎back into the job market.
